Is Koutuxia free?
Free cutouts run locally in your browser with no image limit or sign-up. Upgrade only when you need Magic Eraser, photo unblur, cloud precision, 2× upscaling, or AI-generated backgrounds.
What formats and sizes are supported?
JPG / PNG / WEBP, up to 10 MB each. Output is always a transparent PNG.
Is it accurate? Can it handle hair?
The free local engine handles hair, fur, and semi-transparent edges. Pro cloud processing adds Fine and Fast model choices.
Are my images safe? Are they stored?
Free cutouts run locally and are not uploaded to our server. Pro cloud features send images to Replicate; inputs are deleted after the job, while some successful results are retained briefly in private storage for download. The provider also applies its own policy.
Does Pro have usage limits?
Pro cloud AI uses a high fair-use quota: soft limits are 100 calls per 24 hours and 300 per 30 days to prevent abuse and control third-party compute costs. Free local cutouts are unaffected.
Can I batch process?
Yes. Drop multiple images and they queue up, one after another.
What else can it do besides background removal?
It also compresses images, resizes, converts formats (JPG / PNG / WEBP), and recolors backgrounds — all done locally in your browser, no upload.
Does it work on a computer without internet?
Yes, after one online visit. The runtime and model download once (about 110 MB for the standard tier) and stay cached in your browser, so later cutouts work offline. If the computer has no broadband, tether it to a phone once, click “Preload for offline use” below, then disconnect. Don't let a cleanup tool clear the browser cache, or it downloads again. Machines that are never allowed online are not supported yet.
Offline use
Download the runtime and the standard model once (about 110 MB); after that, cutouts work without a connection. A phone hotspot is enough, and you can disconnect when it finishes.
